12th Congress at Srebrno Jezero
From September 23 to 29, 2024, the 12th Congress on Weeds and the Conference on Herbicides and Plant Growth Regulators, with international participation, was held at Srebrno Jezero. This scientific congress gathered eminent experts from the country and abroad who presented the results of their research within the following thematic areas:
- Weed biology and ecology
- Weed control
- Conference on herbicides and plant growth regulators
- Biological potential of weeds
Our colleagues, MSc Maja Sudimac and MSc Jovan Lazarević, took part in this event. Ms. Sudimac, as part of a plenary presentation, spoke about the role and importance of agricultural advisory and extension services in transferring knowledge from the scientific community to end users (farmers), and how this communication plays a crucial role in the effective control of harmful organisms, including weeds, in the field.Mr. Lazarević, within the poster session, presented part of the results from his recently published paper in a leading international journal. His research focused on the potential anti-inflammatory effects of components from angelica essential oil, depending on the weed control measures applied in this crop. In addition to presenting research results, contacts were established with colleagues from other scientific institutions in the country and abroad, with the aim of networking and exchanging knowledge and experience in order to better address the growing challenges in agricultural production.
