Since 2015, a Heliosec system has been installed at the experimental field as a practical solution for the physical purification of wastewater. It is a system designed for filling, washing, and managing liquids resulting from cleaning pesticide application equipment.

Sprayer washing platform and Heliosec unit where wastewater is collected
- The Heliosec system consists of a structural frame made of iron, a polyethylene tank, and a liner placed inside the tank.
- It is covered with plastic to protect it from rain and to prevent access by animals.
- Air circulation is ensured in order to enhance water evaporation.
- In the center of the tank there is a scale that monitors the amount of wastewater collected in the reservoir.

Once all the water has evaporated, a dry residue remains. The liner is then removed, placed in a bag, and handed over to an authorized operator who disposes of the hazardous waste.

This represents a simple, fast, and efficient method that prevents the contamination of yards, gardens, household surroundings, and agricultural land where sprayers are commonly rinsed after pesticide application.
It is not enough merely to know environmental regulations or formally claim environmental responsibility. PSS Institut Tamiš, at its experimental field, implements practical solutions that significantly reduce the negative environmental impact of pesticide use.
The problems identified on our farm are the same challenges faced by many pesticide users. Our experimental field serves agricultural producers in the surrounding area and beyond, demonstrating practical solutions that farmers can adopt in order to implement the concept of socially responsible farming on their holdings.
